Boy In The Post  Creative Writing Workshop with Author Holly Rivers

Sunday 7th August 10.30-1pm - London 

Holly Rivers is the author of ‘Demelza & the Spectre Detectors’ and ‘The Boy in the Post’, both published by Chicken House.

In this fun and interactive workshop, children will delve into the pages of Holly’s latest book ‘The Boy in The Post’. They’ll become acquainted with the story’s unique characters and locations, before exploring some of the historical events, rare stamps and unusual animals that inspired the adventure.

They’ll then undertake some playful creative writing exercises — such as world building, character creation, utilising the senses and showing VS telling — all based around the book’s themes.

They’ll end the session by looking at the ‘mood board’ that Holly created for ‘The Boy In The Post’, before creating their own for a story they intend to write in the future.

The cost of the workshop is £25 and includes a copy of ‘The Boy In The Post’ and a snack
